About Vitamin C Ester
We've all known about Vitamin C and how important it is since we were
children. We know it's in fruit, and we know it's supposed to help us
avoid catching colds... heard it since you were little, right? But how
often have you actually thought about how the chemicals that
make up Vitamin C are used by your body?
It's the 21st Century
There's no excuse for taking a pill if you don't have a
understanding of what it's going to do for (or to) you.
You're reading this over the internet, so you already know that
there's never been a time when consumers have had more information
at their fingertips, and everyone should by now have a better
understanding of nutrition and body chemistry than any generation
before us. Of course that only comes with a little bit of work,
and that usually means reading up on the subject. You can also
let experts do the homework for you (we already have!), and
take our word for it that science has come a long way in understanding
the actual physiological mechanisms that are at work when we improve
our diets by taking vitamins and other supplements. In coming to
that understanding, scientists have also seen that modifications to
to our normal supplements can improve the way we metabolize them. A
great example of this is Vitamin C Ester.
Ah, Ester
In a nutshell, this version of Vitamin C is bound up in a
formula that's less acidic and therefore easier on your system -
both to digest (less risk of an acidy stomach) and in terms of
its impact on your overall metabolism. More of the Vitamin C gets
picked up and actually used by your body. The really good news
is that it's not really more expensive to consume the better version
of the supplement. Might as well do it right!
In Your Body or On Your Body>?
Another fairly recent development is the realization that some
vitamins and other anti-oxidant compounds can have great on the
health and appearance of your skin when applied directly to it.
There are numerous products available - from effective, but budget-priced items such
as
Twinlab's Ester C 1000 to high-end (and super potent) topical
anti-oxidant boosters from
Dr. N.V. Perricone at Sephora.
