About Liquid Bandages
When you've got a burn or wound, your doctor is much
more likely, these days, to promote healing of your
skin with wet, or liquid wound covering. Your skin will
typically heal more quickly, and with less scarring and
discomfort, if it's not getting dried out by the air
as the sensitive new skin is trying to grow.
For years, your best bet has been to use a standard dressing
or bandage, and use it to make sure that a treatment such as
Neosporin was in steady contact with
the healing area. Of course, bandages tend to get moved, dirty,
or just in the way.
Now, you can use the same techniques that you'll find in
hospitals and clinics: liquid wound coverings. These products
cover the wound and dry to a tough, breathable covering
that protects from infection and is much less of a hassle
than standard bandages.
Keep some on the shelf, and especially in your field
first aid kits - you're usually outside doing something when you
rough up your skin!
